I’m listening to mj blige perform on “dancing w/the stars” and wondering how someone goes about getting a title of one’s industry while still alive. They introduced her as the Queen of HipHop…was Elvis “the king” when he was still alive? I suppose so. M. Jackson is the King of Pop, I guess…it just seems so weird to me that a title like that would be bestowed upon people pre-thumously (is that a word?). Do you know who the Lord of Crunk is? LOL. Check the 4th para in Overview. God bless wikipedia.

S and his crew and I ate at the newly opened Town Talk Diner on Saturday. Geesh. I know they’s been open a whole 10 days now but they really need to tighten the joint up. Chili dogs for $7 alongside $20 entrees. Weird. Around the corner from there is Midori’s Floating World Cafe…has anyone ever been there?

I am again debating about closing this joint (blog) up. I know, I know (Eric)- I have said it before. Maybe the third time is the charm? I feel the need to close up for a while. Maybe I’ll start a secret blog like other people I know…

At this time next week I’ll have my MRS. Baylor really didn’t come through for me on that one…thank goodness! :)

I was at the Mall of America today and the cast of “She’s the Man” (or, she’s the man now dog! as I think of it)was there in the rotunda signing movie posters. I had no idea Amanda Bynes was so popular with the kiddos. The line was HUGE and I saw one little chubster boy walk by (on the 2nd floor, mind you) and wave and say “Hi Amanda!” Very cute.

oh, and some interesting news re: Guatemala:

This month students from the Rhode Island School of Design are helping Guatemalan artisans in the country’s volcanic Lake Atitlán region market their traditional bright-colored patterns. Nine industrial-design and textile students and one instructor traveled to Guatemala to help the local artisans develop new textile collections, in part by donating new designs, and to export the collections as a means of increasing their income. (That’s the whole text from the article.)

UPDATE – Free pancakes at Ihop tomorrow. No lie.

Bless!
